in Credit cards
After being charged 22.2% apr on my alliance and leicester credit card for a few months after my 0% period i decided to pull my thumb out and try and apply for another so i could balance transfer................ I wish i keep getting turned down!!! i cant understand why ive never missed payments on my cards and as far as i was aware i had been a good boy. So i went of in huff and wanted to know why this had happend so i got a credit check on my self, and discoverd the lovely people at my previous mobile phone contract have put me down for 6 missed payments and a differal for payment this happend as far as i can see after a dispute with them over payment which i thought was settled and put to bed. Secondly im not even on the electorial roll!!! Im in the forces so i dont even now what to do about this as i fall into a very grey area. Any way ive chatted enough now can any one help either getting me a cheaper credit card or cleaning my file up.

The more I read ..the more important your credit rating appears to your life these days. I would imagine it's more important to have a good credit rating these days than not having acriminal record !
So the lesson is ...it don't matter who thinks they are in the right ...the final word is the damage that can be done to your credit rating if you dont pay.
I would contact the phone company and get an explanation. Could they have done it out of spite ?
Depends what the dispute was over ?
The lesson these days is to always continue to pay , even if you are in dispute. I have a few examples this year where I would have loved to say , chase me for the money ...but the old credit rating always made me buckle and just pay up.
Wish I has a way of always winning , even if I was in the wrong.0 -
Well first thing, getting onto electoral role is easy peasy.
www.rollingregistration.gov.uk
If it dont work just google it. Youll find it easy on there.
Second thing, ring the company for an explanation and make contact with Experian and Equifax to dispute the details being reported to them. I had all sorts changed on my file that didnt ring true and now its starting to look like a 5 star rating! I cant wait till febuary time when I finally settle my Cap one and Storecard to see what my ratings like then.
Hope this helps.0 -
