  • Hi, my phone's basic contract is £35 a month which is for 600 minutes and 3000 texts, this is quite a necessity for me as my boyfriend lives a half hour drive away so what I spend on line rental each month I save in Petrol costs! I'm on an 18 month contract which started in June or July so have got a while to go but will definitely be scouting around for a different deal when it comes to it.

Regarding the ebay/making things, I'm going to try and make one large item every week/two weeks (its quite a lot of work but should get me a decent amount of money) and I'm also going to sell anything thats not nailed down to add to the pot!!!

    Thanks for all your advice!

  • Hello everyone!

Got paid this morning (the last weekly payment I think! before monthly), was expecting just being paid for my four days of working last week but think they've also paid my meagre holiday hours to, so must budget budget budget cos now I won't be paid until the middle of January (I think) and that will be not a lot at all!

SO anyway, please excuse the rambling, in short, I'm now off to pay off another £150 off my card. Would like to pay more but phone bill will be going out on the 7th and have bf's birthday (oh no!) to factor in on the 13th - he will be getting lots and lots from the sales!:j I just have to face them (ugh!)

Will be updating my signature asap to reflect my new totals - I don't think I can wait until the money has actually gone into the account! No patience whatsoever.

Am also going to raid the house today for things to sell on EBay tomorrow - 10p listing day! woo hoo! what kind of things do you guys sell - whenever I put things that I haven't made on there, they either don't sell or sell for very little. Any tips???

    Thanks everyone!!!:T

  • Have just listed 16 items on EBay for the 10p listing day - 3 have people watching already so hopefully they'll all sell! And I've tried to be realistic with my starting prices so people won't be put off!

WHat do you guys sell on EBay? anybody got any tips for what is popular???

    All help appreciated!

  • So haven't posted for a while, not much to report but have been being super mean with my spending - keeping a spending diary and am loving writing in 'no spend day' at the end of the day! Feels like such an achievement!

My ebay listings from the 10p day made about £100 in total (before fees etc) so will be paying that off card asap and got £40 back from a friend (also earmarked for card), and won £38 playing Foxy bingo so waiting for that to appear in my account to go off the card! Very very exciting!

Just gone permanent on my job so will have to manage my money well to make it last the month (was being paid weekly before) but I do get paid on the 14th of each month which is not long now! Only problem is boyfriend's birthday on the 13th! Oh dear!

Have bought him a few things so far - sale in Fat Face - £13.50 for a merino jumper reduced from £45! plus a shirt, polo shirt, t-shirt. Gt lots of ideas just not much cash! Thinking about using my vouchers from Christmas, then at least I won't be spending real money!

Have worked out in my account that when all the things I have bought, and my phone bill go out, I will have £20 until the 14th, hmm don't know if I can make that stretch to birthday and living expenses! Arrrrrrrggggggghhh!

Anyone got any ideas for what to buy a soon to be 26 year old that doesn't cost much??!! Apologies for the rambling post!

  • Hi,

sounds like you've gotten him quite a few bits in the sale already. Do you really need to get more - perhaps a homemade cake or dinner instead and make him feel really special? If not I'm sure he'll understand and wait one day until you are paid for any other presents.

    Lol.

  • Yeah, that's what i was thinking. I'm making hima birthday cake and I promised I would cook him a fry up on his Birthday (hmm, probably not such a good idea!!!). Plus he has said that he's happy enough that he's got me and he doesn't need any presents at all! So sweet! Definitely going to try and find a couple major bargains to add and then that will be it. Thanks MoneyGypsy!:T

  • Manages to sell a load of stuff on ebay, came to about £100 in total, nearly all of it has been paid for but now I've got someone accusing me of swindling him! He bought two items, both of which had the postage to the UK clearly stated on them. He is in another European country and is refusing to pay the postage I have now quoted for his country, which is only a couple of punds more. Surely it is obvious to anybody that postage to Europe costs more than to the UK, and surely it is reasonable to enquire about what it will cost before you bid????!!!!!

    Arrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghh!

    Sorry, rant over

  • Finally received some money from paypal today, so have paid it straight off my credit card ! woo hoo :j !!! What I find funny is that they take thier time when they are giving you money back, but when they're taking yours, it practically jumps out of your account!!!

Anyway, that £202.20 (20p is very important!) has taken my balance below the fifteen hundred mark which is very exciting! And if I manage to pay off the amount from my budget offmy cards this month (oh how I love being paid in the middle of the month, not the end!) then it will take me below £1000!

Very very exciting! I shall have to get making some more stuff to sell on Ebay, and waiting to hear back from AQA, really really hope I get in - then it would make my time browsing the internet actual work!!

Feeling very excited and positive today! Just want to be making things rather than going to work thought!
