Ebike not working properly from day one

Hi just hoping for a bit of help to understand my rights in this situation. I got an E-bike from E-Bike Direct on line. Made sure it was a good make and  should be reliable as i am in my 60's and needed one i could trust to get to and from work which is only about a mile and a half away. cost £2500. When i got the bike it was obvious something was wrong because the motor kept cutting out. I emailed them they said sounded like a battery fault. it was shipped back to them. and returned to me a few weeks later. it has gone back to them three more times for problems to do with the the battery, sensors. And i am now having the original problem of the power cutting out intermittently and i often need to cycle before i turn the bike on to get the power to kick in. I have informed E-bike direct of this and they have contacted the manufacturer and we are waiting for them to get back in touch. got the bike in October last year and they have had it with them probably about a month and a half to two month of that time. Can i request a different bike, money back or am i now stuck with it. paying for it through paypal monthly. Cheers for any help, advice anyone can offer
