Help to go wire-free!!

Hi.....& hope that I will get help as I am not very computer minded as I only do a little "surfin" a few e-mails and an odd letter to reclaim my bank charges.

I have a dell latitude laptop which I bought around a year ago, second hand so it is probably a few yeasr old.

I have just re-newed with BT broadband on option 1 for 12 months and I am still useing the BT Voyager 205 ADSL Routher that I first got with BT.

As in the title of my post I need to get help to go wirefree.

All so.......Santa has brought my daughter a new laptop which is wirefree, so I will need the proper router to suit it as well.

I understand that I will require a card of some sort to allowed my laptop to be wirefree but I am confused as to know if I should get a 54mb (cheepy) or 125mb (bit more money) think it needs to be a "G" of some sort not sure!!

Any sugestions or help....

Renewed? That would have been the time to ask BT for a free wireless router.

They may be a little more reticent now you have signed on the dotted line. What were you thinking?

Get on the phone to see if they can offer you a deal. Free or a LARGE discount.

If your laptop does not have a built-in Wireless Card, you will likely need a PCMCIA card.

Don't keep us guessing. Laptop model.

I have only 1 USB slot therefore you`r 2nd sugestion may be the only 1 that I have.

netgear dg834g, from ebuyer will do the router job

54G is fine

When I setup my wireless network I found the following wireless network guide really useful:

You shouldn't have any problems with BT, I use a netgear router, it was very simple to setup.
