Amazon gift card email link

Hi - not sure if this is the right board but .... An Amazon seller offered me a gift card as recompense for an item which has developed faults.  They sent me a link and state 'copy the link to the Amazon app and it will automatically recharge your balance'.  If I click on the link, it just takes me to the Amazon website main page.  If I go to redeem a gift code, I do not have a code to enter into the box.  I've gone back to the seller but they just keep sending me the same message.  Does anyone have any ideas about this!?!  Thanks.

Agreed, but recontact the seller, tell them the link doesn't work, and see what they do next.
If you don't get any joy there then complain to Amazon themselves.

Thank you.  I don't think it is a scam (but I may be wrong!).  I wondered if it was something on my pc preventing the link working - I have got a lot of virus protection!

Anything above and beyond Windows Defender is not necessary (assuming a Windows based system)

This sounds like a scam so I hope it's not! Firstly change your password immediately and don't click that link again.

Secondly go back to the seller and tell them you do not accept the gift card and that you want the money as a refund and see what they do

It doesn't half sound like the seller is trying to circumvent amazon here.

Thirdly contact amazon and explain the situation to them and also see what they say
