RF modulator

After months of saving my son has today proudly bought a wii console only to find that because he has an old tv with no scart he cant use it in his room. Maplins tell me I need an RF modulator which they sell for £29.99 - does anyone know if I could get one cheaper elsewhere please?

Thanks in advance

You'd be better off putting the £30 towards a new TV for him, if it hasn't got a scart it must be at the end of its useful life by now.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Appreciate what you are saying, but the current tv works perfectly as a tv and with his playstation and I have this inbuilt dislike of being bullied by technology into replacing items that are intrinsicly still useful, though I do agree that £30 is a large chunk of the cost of a more uptodate tv it just annoys me that I "have" to do it - IYSWIM

Or find an old video recorder - even a broken one that doesn't play tapes any more will probably have a working RF modulator. Just plug the Wii into the VCR, then plug the VCR into the TV.

  • Make sure it's a broke VCR that has a scart in socket...
or, spend a fiver on the nintendo RF tuner: http://www.last-outpost.co.uk/site/index.php?action=item&id=901

That would be the neatest and least power hungry solution
