Just to add that if you don't know which type of memory card is compatible with your camera, phone, device, etc, then the mymemory.co.uk website has a good selector tool:
    http://www.mymemory.co.uk/memory-selector

I just tried to purchase a memory card with them and they demanded that I sign in with a google account to do so, which was incredibly irritating, particularly since when I offered to create a new google account (like I really want google to have my bank details and my emails!) it wiped out and started from the beginning, so I cancelled the order.
  • Whats 'slightly better' about the extreme versions?

They're quite a bit faster - especially handy to photographers needing to take fast sequential shots, as the read/write times are a LOT quicker.

You don't have to have one, had my Wii for over a year and never had the need. Internal memory is fine for all but the most hardcore gamer.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure
  • Ordered one for our son today, he is very chuffed
    Thanks

  • A 2GB SD is brilliant, especially considering today's digital cameras with their megapixels and video recording capabilities that can fill up a card really fast... so why bother with a big and slow SD card when you can have a big and fast one.

I've bought a 1GB SD at x150 speed in the past from this seller on ebay: Flashman852 ->
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/150X-2GB-ADATA-SD-Secure-Digital-High-Speed-Card-2-G-GB_W0QQitemZ320201382348QQihZ011QQcategoryZ18871QQcmdZViewItem

As you can see, he now sells them in 2GB for only £9.48 (£5.99 + £3.49 shipping... from Hong Kong and still cheaper than Amazon) and they're lightning fast as mentioned in the auction:
"Very high performance at Read Speed more than 22.5MB/s and Write Speed more than 15MB/s"
    Here's the manufacturer's page:
    http://www.adata.com.tw/adata_en/product_show.php?ProductNo=ASDC150BU

Once you've tried x150 speed... you don't want to go back.
I tested an older slower SD in my digital camera (Casio S500) and that was painful... x150 is the way to go... especially at this price.

This seller is a Power Seller and has more than 99% of positive feedback for over 200000 sales... so he can be trusted.
There's no custom charges and delivery takes about 7-10 days, so if you're not in a rush, I can only recommend it.

  • My sister got a camera for xmas that takes Pro Duo cards, and everywhere closeby seemed to be out of stock!

After a lot of internet trawling we found a 512Mb SanDisk one on Jessops website in their sale for £4.97, down from £24.99! Its only available for store pick up, but if theres one closeby its not half bad! There seems to be quite a few different sizes in the sale as well :)
