OVO charge anytime suspends Ford Pass account and therefore not usable
I have a Ford Kuga PHEV and OVO as my energy supplier. As recommended here I signed up to OVO charge anytime which effectively reduces my charge tariff to 7p/KWH as opposed to my usual 27p/KWH as long as I use the OVO app to charge.
I had an email today from Ford advising me that my Ford Pass account has been suspended. It transpires that Ford no longer trust 3rd party apps in conjunction with theirs and the result is that I can no longer use OVO charge anytime as the OVO app needs to be linked to Ford Pass in order to work. This means that I can’t benefit from the reduced tariff anymore.

I phoned Ford who are aware of the situation but couldn’t tell me when or if this would be resolved.
I believe a similar issue happened with Octopus and energy has now been resolved.

Does anyone have any more information about this. I also hear that it isn’t just Ford that are affected by this.

Sharing your login details will break the T&C's on most vehicle apps and some manufacturers are starting to actively clamp down on this due to the load on their servers and potentially security concerns. The answer is to use EVSE integrations where available but I know that isn't much help if you have incompatible EVSE, or the energy supplier doesn't provide an EVSE route.0
