child tax credits hours change and migration to universal credit

Options
I had a reduction in hours at work back in September of 25hrs down to 23hrs per week. Due to staffing issues my working day didn't initially change but we were given time back. I wasn't aware that I needed to inform anyone at the time as I thought it was too smaller change. I had it in my head you only needed to state a change of less than 16hrs. I have now been asked to migrate to universal credit by April and I am worried that this will be identified and could cause me alot of problems. Has anyone had a similar experience or know what may happen? I am tempted to just not apply as I will only be entitled to the 12mth period as I have received some nheritance.
