Depositing a cheque via the Starling mobile app.

I have had a Starling bank account for over a year now but never needed to pay in a cheque before. Next month a customer will pay me by cheque.
I have had a look on the app and can see where I need to go to make the deposit and take a picture of the front and back.
Just wondering if anyone has had success or failure trying to pay a cheque into Starling.

My wife paid a cheque into her starling account on Monday this week and it was cleared into her account the next day.1 -
Yes,it's very easy,just follow the instructions1

Provided your cheque is not for more than £1,000.00, it should be a doddle.Just follow their instructions. If the cheque is for more, you need to post it.

It worked fine for me when I tried it.

I very rarely have to lodge cheques but the odd one I get I use Starling. No problems with it, just take the photo of the front and back and within a couple of days the money is in your account.startrim said:Just wondering if anyone has had success or failure trying to pay a cheque into Starling.1 -
I've got a Starling business account and regularly pay cheques in via the app - they usually clear next morning at about 9am if I've submitted them before about 3pm. It works really well - one of the reasons I'm a big fan of Starling1

I'm surprise the max is £1000 being a digital bank, thought it would be higher.

It is a bit odd given that Halifax accept up to £10,000. On the other hand someone who uses a modern bank probably very rarely pays cheques in, particularly any of any value.HillStreetBlues said:I'm surprise the max is £1000 being a digital bank, thought it would be higher.0 -
Thank-you all for the replies.
The cheque will be for under £1000.
I will have more confidence paying it in through Starling now I have read your experiences.0 -
Pretty much all the main banks offer this facility now; the maximum value that Starling accept is towards the lower ends too.startrim said:Thank-you all for the replies.
