Hi,
This might have been covered or I might be looking for a unicorn product. My ex and I split up over a year ago and have since been using the old joint account (which I do not have card or online banking access to) to pay for clubs, school activities and holiday clubs. We have decided to open up a new account that we can both access and put money into that.
However, I don't really want a joint account with him and would rather just have an account that we can both have visibility of but we don't need a card or anything - it would purely be direct debits coming out. Is there such an account? Or are we best off using Starling/Monzo/Chase?

Then why keep the existing one?
If what is required is an account to hold funds for the sole benefit of the child, how about a Halifax Kids Saver?

You can both contribute and you as Trustee can withdraw as required to pay for activities? This seems the most practical arrangement as (it seems) the child lives with you?

Starling Kite account but just you as the account holder?
Your better off severing the Financial link with the ex asap.0 -
Your husband doesn't need to be named on the account to transfer money into it.
Bur he wouldnlt be able to do any withdrawals if his name wasn't on it.
Nor would he be able to view the account.

I think you are over complicating this. Just have one or both of you paying for the clubs and adjust whatever child support you pay each other accordingly.0
