My DW has an iPhone and uses Safari to access the web. Recently every time she uese it she gets directed to Google and has to sign in to Google. Is this right and how can she either log on permanently or just not use Google?

In private mode cookies are stored by tab so each new one has no cookies and so triggers Google's privacy statement that either you have to sign in or scroll down to accept and clear1 -
Ok she cleared the history and it still did it so I told her to switch the phone off completely and restart it and now it is back to normal. Not sure if the default on safari is chrome I don't want to look yet as she is happy with it at the moment.
Thanks for the quick replies.0 -
Chrome is a browser same as Safari and if she has Chrome installed she can set that to be the defaut browser. She can also set her preferred search engine within Safari. The options that show up for me are, Google, Yahoo, Bing, DuckDuckGo & Ecosia.DuckDuckGo is my preferred browser. When I use Safari, only for Youtube as I then never see any of their annoying ads, I have DuckDuckGo selected as my search engine.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid1

Interesting fact:Google pays Apple in the region of 18 billion dollars a year to make Chrome the default search engine on iOS.0
