Shell -----> Octopus & direct debits

I was with Shell where my direct debit came out early in the month every month (3rd in Jan, 5th in Feb).
Octopus has now taken over. It's the 15th today & my bill still hasn't been paid.

Just wondering if others in the same situation are experiencing the same? I'd assume everything would switch over without me having to do anything. Maybe I'll be hit with 2x bills in April or maybe they'll decide to switch the date to later in the month I don't know.

When I chose to switch from BG to Octopus,  they said one direct debit would be taken in about 10 days time (mid month), followed by my routine dd on the 1st of the next month.

They failed to get it all set up in time for those first two dds, but then it was taken on the first from then on.

I'd keep the money to one side, and give them chance to sort it out.

You can always make a manual payment through the app/website if you're worried about getting behind.

If the mandate is changed less than 10 days before the DD date then the payment will not go out on the date in question. I did this with my Octopus account and changed to amount and date from the 19th to the 1st and the DD wasn't taken on the 19th or the 1st of the following month but was taken on the 1st of the month after that, my credit reduced by about £85 in that time from £400 to £317 and has being a constant credit of around £300 ever since.
Someone please tell me what money is
