Parking Charge Notice, Mero Retail Park, Bath

Hi

Fine for returning within 1 hour.  Entrance signage doesn't state this, says 2 hours free parking, refer to car park signage for t&c's.

Arrival 10.06
Depart 10.25 have shopping receipt

Arrive 10.50
Depart 11.04  (forgot something and returned but can't find receipt)

First of all I have contacted Lidl, both via email and Facebook.  Just told me to appeal to Parkingeye. Thanks Lidl!

I've tried to find the landowner which is proving difficult.  There are also 2 separate parking management companies working side by side.

Any advice please

Isn't the Mero Retail Park next door to Lidl - with Carpet Right, Pets at Home and Hobby Craft?

To me it looks like Lidl have their own car park - off Fielding's Road, but both car parks appear to be 'managed' by ParkingEye.
  • Lidl aren't interested. Both replies were to appeal to parking management co.

But so often it is said on here... it is so easy for companies to deny requests made by email.
It is far more difficult when a customer is standing at the customer services desk, looking the store manager in the eye and waving a recent shopping receipt and parking charge notice, for them to refuse.

From time to time @Umkomaas posts this...
    Here are some ideas:
    1. Google searches
    2. If a retail park, check on any signage which lists the on-site outlets
    3. Ask retailers on the site if there is a managing agent
    4. Ask retailers on the site to whom do they pay rent
    5. Contact the local authority and ask who pays the non-domestic/business rate for the car park (some councils have a spreadsheet on their website)
    6. Contact the local Valuation Office and ask if they know. They often have a website which might provide the information
    7. Contact The Land Registry and for around £3 they should be able to provide definitive detail.
  • Thanks Keith. Found Acornford Hampshire Ltd on planning app but looks like they are being liquidated.

Isn't the retail park's managing agents' name on the entrance plinth?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Date of posting is the missing info. PPCs  wrongly use their issue date to calculate the 2 day postal delivery date. This is unfair as it reduces the number of days PPCs give drivers to respond to their letters. Please support this action to have this unfairness recognised and addressed.

So many people don't receive 1st and/or 2nd pcn but the £170 payment due letter often manages to drop through letter boxes. PPCs always claim discounted/full rate pcns/court claim letters were sent as dated though they offer no evidence to prove this.

Since they CHOOSE NOT to provide evidence of their posting we must continue to press gov to ensure they do and see it included in the new Parking CoP. Please sign/share @jmccabe petition closes 22nd june 2024.

    No.

Clearly I didn't mean the ParkingEye sign!

The plinth/totem sign listing the businesses.
