Yes, I think the only relevance to house buying (judging from the previous threads) is that the debt originated from the shortfall in a mortgage repossession.0

If any debt is to UK government (eg benefits) then that is v likely not covered by statute of limitations: They can come after you 25 years later!0

Thank you everyone. I think it's important to remember than many people, such as myself, are coming onto forums like this in sheer desperation so are already stressed and quite scared before even posting a question. I did think I was posting in the right area so that was a mistake. That tends to happen when you're stressed.
Secondly, advise is simply just that. I've followed up on every bit of advise and info gained which has been helpful. But as you also know, every path to resolve my situation comes with it's own unique set of consequences. So I think I'm entitled to ask as many questions as I feel I need to along the way.
If someone is a little annoyed at my lack f context or by me asking for advise frequently, then you're not obligated to respond.
I definitely found the tome of some of the responses unnecessarily harsh ( not all ) .
I'm not here for you; I'm here for myself and my daughter.
Appreciate the help when it's been given. The lectures, not so much.
