BMW Brake Pads
When I check the status of the front brake pads, the status is given as per the picture. The green icons lead me to believe that there is no issue and the pads are currently OK. The message "Next change due..." is ambiguous to me. Perhaps I am being stupid.
Does it mean:
1) That the pads are good for another 25,000 miles?
Or
2) They should be changed when the vehicle has exceeded 25,000 miles on the odometer?
Given that I have done 28,000 miles perhaps they should be changed now, despite the green icons!
Any advice or thoughts gratefully received.

If the vehicle thought the pads needed changing you would be getting an alert. I see you have one alert, what is it for?1

The pads are good for another 25K miles is the correct interpretation.
That would mean that the life of the pads is expected to be 53K miles.
All depends on driving style of course.1 -
MOT inspection required. Thanks for your help.TadleyBaggie said:If the vehicle thought the pads needed changing you would be getting an alert. I see you have one alert, what is it for?

Never seen an MOT alert on mine, just service items.1

The alert appears as "Statutory Inspection". Maybe it is something the dealer puts in?TadleyBaggie said:Never seen an MOT alert on mine, just service items.

It's the 'double s' symbol - § -it means Statutory Service Check.TadleyBaggie said:Never seen an MOT alert on mine, just service items.
It's only in UK we use the outdated term MOT.0 -
Just checked the Brake Pad item on my BMW, it say “in 7000 miles” which is non-ambiguous0

Google says the life expectance of brake pads is - 30,000-35,000 miles

Better anticipation saves wear on brake pads and discs.1
