Passport Query - 3 months left - different airlines

Hi, we are looking to book a last minute holiday returning by 10th April.  Our passports expire 31st July (so ok for the 3 month from date of return as canaries, and passports are not more that 10 years in length).  I have read different things about different airlines and their own policies (as gov guidance is 6 months but not the country requirement)  - some stories about Ryanair.

Does anyone know if we will have an issue with any particular airlines or if we are ok with any?

Thanks

You need to check the terms of the COUNTRY you are entering.

The stories you have likely heard have been isolated stories of one or two members of staff across the board misinterpreting the rules for the entry of certain countries (mainly EU ones)
  • Thanks.  The country is 3 months - Gran Canaria or Lanzarote.
I've had just read scare stories online about different airlines

Airlines tell you to check the entry requirements of the country you are entering. As said, these "stories" are isolated cases where rules have been misinterpreted.

Even happened with that bastion of British elegance BA... https://www.independent.co.uk/travel/news-and-advice/ba-passenger-denied-boarding-uk-passport-b2468229.html

There were a lot of stories of issues with dates when the changed rules came in.  Ryanair were reported as being one of the worst. Hopefully all airlines are now familiar with the rules.
