Thank you for this, I am not asking them to. I am asking them to refund the interests and charges I have paid for the last few months as I believe it was not affordable. it was my doctor who recommended the debt be written off, not me.QuackCandle said:Realistically, I'm not sure Barclays are going to write off a £5k+ debt because someone has Autism.0 -
Its exceptionally rare that anyone ignores one of their rulings big or small... every case I've ever come across hasn't been anyone "ignoring it" but just bad processes so the post room was putting letters (Im that old) into the wrong pigeon hole etc and it taking a while to get it to the right place. As soon as that was realised the matter was settleditchysheep said:Because barclays are a big company. Are they likely to ignore a ruling @DullGreyGuy and would i have to go to court against them?0 -
does anyone know how likely it is the interest and charges will be refunded?0

Its quite likely Barclays will dismiss your complaint, that is the usual response to most affordability complaints.itchysheep said:does anyone know how likely it is the interest and charges will be refunded?
You will then be free to escalate the matter to the FOS, you can find their complaint form on there website.
They will look at it from the point of view of fairness to all sides, and come to a decision based on that, no one can pre-empt what they might say, so you will just have to wait and see what happens.
Of course Barclays could also make a gesture of goodwill towards you, again its a case of wait and see.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thank you, the Barclays people have already had 8 weeks but did not respond. The FO are currently going to look at it I am in a queue but it can take months, does anyone know a likely reason Barclays ignored my complaint?sourcrates said:

In that case, the FOS will inform Barclays that they have a complaint to deal with, so yes, the 8 week clock starts again.
In every case the complaint must first be addressed by the company concerned, the FOS can only become involved once you have received Barclays final response.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Thank you for this, I thought that they had 8 weeks or until a final response, I originally complained more than 8 weeks ago but they ignored it. I have proof I complained then, it does seem frustrating they get another 8 weeks.sourcrates said:In that case, the FOS will inform Barclays that they have a complaint to deal with, so yes, the 8 week clock starts again.

I know it is frustrating and stressful but ultimately if you cannot afford to repay it due to low income then Barclays cannot really do anything. Try and put it to the back of your mind until you hear from the FOS and/or Barclays. The process takes a while. Thanks for this, I have had a notification from Barclays today telling me they will call me, hopefully it goes well.enthusiasticsaver said:I know it is frustrating and stressful but ultimately if you cannot afford to repay it due to low income then Barclays cannot really do anything.
