SIP PCN - Appeal Help - Accused of 24 hour parking / Licence Plate rear error

Options
Hi all

Looking for a bit of advice as it's the first time it's ever happened to me after driving for 20odd years. ha

I regularly park in the SIP car park near my work in Manchester, my parking pattern is usually around 9.45am to 6.10/15pm Mon to Wed, 8.20am to 5.10/15pm Thursday and 8.45am to 6.10/15pm Friday. I buy a ticket from the machine and it's monitored using a licence plate recognition (LPC) on entry/exit.

I've received a Parking Notice Charge claiming i parked there overnight (24Hours) and they've clocked the following times, with pictures, on the LPC:

Entry on 5/3/24 at 09.46.59am
Exit on 6/3/24 at 09.42.47am

Now, I have an idea on why they don't have one of me leaving on the 5/3/24. As i was leaving there was a large Van (pretty sure it was Salford van hire) entering the car park, which subsequently stopped at the entrance to get a ticket, this caused a slight back up of people exiting - as he eventually entered, i went round and left, and can only summarise that the van blocked the line of sight of the Licence Plat Reader as i passed on the opposite side of the van to the camera.

Regarding leaving at 9.42 on 6/3/24, this is due to the car parking being full and after doing a full circle, I left and parked around the corner in another SIP car park, of which i have a ticket for.
I'm not sure why they don't have plate recognition of me entering. From memory there was a number of people entering the car park at the time and I may have followed some too closely for the camera to pick up me entering.

Now, i have nothing to back this up other than my regular attending of the car park with tickets and that i parked round the corner on the 6/3/24.
While the above explanation to me is reasonable, does this come across as something I'll be able to get over turned? or am i missing a trick in dealing with these private car park companies that I should include?

Parking somewhere else with proof is good - keep that ticket.  Search the forum for "double dip" and see what others have done.

They don't have the image of you entering that second day, as no human has looked for it yet.  These PCNs are issued after automated decision-making and little/no human checks.  They default to first in-last out images in a 24 hour period.

Appeal and complain to SIP telling them what happened and to locate the 'orphan image' (parking industry phrase) and cancel the PCN.

I would NEVER EVER use a SIP car park.  You are playing with £100 penalty every single day.  Is there not a Council car park you can use?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ah ok, yeah i assumed they'd just look at entry and then exit, will ask them to search for that.

I've parked there for ages, never had a problem before this tbh - take away the idiot blocking the entry with a massive van, and i still wouldn't. But i get where you are coming from.... once bitten and all that.

it's a PDF ticket receipt as the other car park is payment online, by the same company as well.

Read up and yeah i can see where that Double Dip happened. .. will report back once i get a response. Hoping i get a reasonable person.

Doesn't matter if you don't.  You won't be paying.
