Has probate been granted?

Apologies in advance for the naivety. I'm very new to probate matters.

I am in the process of buying a house which, annoyingly, was listed for sale before the whole probate process was even started. My offer was accepted in October but the probate application was only submitted, online, in February.

Today, I logged into the gov.uk 'search probate records' website and to my surprise, the name of the deceased was listed and it says 'probate' alongside it. Date of probate is today.
I have paid £1.50 to order the documents but it says 'documents pending'.

Maybe I'm getting too excited because it's only 3 weeks since application was submitted. But does this mean that probate has been granted? Or does it just mean the application has been accepted and is pending?

Many thanks

Sounds like it. I recently downloaded a probate record from 20 years ago, and you do have to wait a few days before the document becomes available to you.

It means probate has been granted. If that was only done 'today' then the documents may not be generally available for several days, but I'd get on to your solicitor and confirm to them that the executors should now be in a position to proceed.
