What does an extension shell include?

Hi,
Our builder has walked out from building our extension shell and he expects full payment even though there are loads incomplete.
What does building an extension shell normally include apart from a watertight building?
Will this include internal doors, skirting boards, connecting the electrics include sockets and switches, connecting the water, connecting the central heating, radiators, connecting waste pipes to sewage, lighting?
Basically he's walked out w/o completing the above and left a pile of building material outside. Man hole is still exposed. He's also broken a few things in the neighbour's garden as well.

What am I going to expect this to include apart from building it?
Whatever was agreed in the contract before work started.
It might only mean foundations & floors, walls, roof and ceilings.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
What does your quote say?
If you just agreed for the shell, I wouldn't expect much, if any of the things that you've listed to be included, other than external doors.
Perhaps Google 'building shell definition'.
I hope that you've haven't agreed one thing and expected another. That could prove to be a costly mistake.0 -
When you say walked out. He's completed the job that he quoted for and you accepted.0

I’d expect a watertight building with first fix plumbing, electrics and carpentry, which it does sound like they’ve completed.0

I wouldn't expect a shell to even include plaster, What is in the quote and contract?0

Everone’s definition will be different. When I had a ‘shell’ done it was walls, roof, fascias & soffits and 1st floor joists. I put the windows in and everything subsequently.
The list of things in your post sound like a finished building bar painting.1 -
I wouldn't necessarily expect the shell to be anything more than a watertight 'box', with walls, roof, windows, external doors and floor to screed finish. You say the manhole is exposed. By that do you mean the manhole will be within the building or is this a manhole form rerouting the drains? The only way to know exactly what should have been done is to read the quote.0

Did the builder leave on speaking terms or has he fallen out with you ?0

If there has been a falling out, what was the reason for that happening?
