Joint Executors, should each know what the position is regarding Probate etc?

My Brother-in law died last August, and myself and a Will Writing firm are named as Executors.
When he had his Will drawn up he had paid extra for the Will Writing firm to look after probate etc when he passed away.
Therefore I got all his paper work together, he had many investments and also owned two houses, and sent as much information that I could find to this firm, to date I have heard nothing, and I know for a fact that the houses are not up for sale at present.
As a joint executor should I expect to be told from time to time exactly what the position is regarding probate etc.
I have emailed a couple of times regarding the above question but to date have not received a reply.

Thanks for any replies.

Have you had any discussions at all with the  Will Writers - now Executors as to what should happen with the houses?  As Hoenir says phone them to discuss matters, they could be waiting  to hear from you. Does the will appoint you and the Will Writers as Joint Executors or is one of you a Reserve should the other be unable to act

    Thanks for your replies
We have had a chat over the phone regarding all his investments etc  in September last year regarding all the paperwork that I had found, and they told me to forward all to themselves plus the wish that both properties should be sold.
    We are Joint Executors.
As suggested I will try a phone call.

    HELP>

I have tried phoning this firm 4 times and just get told that the person dealing with my BIL affairs will ring me back, surprise, surprise nothing.
I'm at my wits end with all of this, should I perhaps instruct my own solicitor to see if he can get a reply from this firm, all I want to know is what, if any progress has been made in the past 10 months.

You can check the government website probate records assuming England to check if probate has been granted. Check will writing the firm online if they have a complaints procedure also trust pilot reviews might give you indication if anyone else had similar issues.

Checked probate records and nothing comes up.
Tried trust pilot they record 5 star plus the firm have no complaints procedure.
Emailed the firm 3 days ago, advising if I did not get a return email that I would put matters into the hands of my solicitors, to date no reply/
