British Gas Home Care

Hi has anyone had the same issue, I have subscribed to homecare since geting a new boiler Intergas , BG serviced the boiler the last 2 years, Last week the engineer turned up to complete the annual service , took one look at the boiler and said he had not seen this one before, went away and explained BG no longer service boilers made by Intergas even though they wwere one of the best makes and usually found in businesses. He advised me to contact Homecare ahd have my money returned. Unfortunatly they wilol only credit after I renewed in January not fro when they discontinued supporting the range. My point was they have my boiler on record and if the decision was made say last August they should have contacted me and cancelled my subscription. Any thought. PS I have 7 year warranty so all BRitish Gas were covering was the Service

I may have misunderstood, but if your service contract renews in January and your boiler is serviced in March each year then you have already had the service that was included in your previous years contract so it sounds like cancelling from the renewal this year is the correct response?
Even with a warranty I'd be surprised if your Homecare contract wasn't covering more than just the boiler service as there is usually some degree of cover for associated parts of the system...

Just had the exact same thing happen to us today, BG engineer turned up for the annual service and said I think we have a problem, he knew we had an intergas boiler and said they are no longer supported by BG, didn’t know why, said he could service it but not allowed to, thinks it might be down to the availability of spares but not sure why BG are no longer covering these boilers. Waiting to see what they say but guess they will just refund a few months cover and that will be that.

If you have a good guarantee with the manufacturer just pay an independent guy each year to service and sign your manual. I agree they should have told you when they first stopped supporting the boiler.
