Housing benefit

I've recently come into an inheritance, and was claiming housing benefit and council tax benefits. So I've informed the local council,dwp etc ,so of course everything has stopped,which is understandable..but I've been told by someone else that I'd be entitled to help with my rent as I claim pip .is that right?.

That's not correct if your savings/capital are more than £16,000.
