I clicked on an ad while browsing yesterday. Clicked off. Then started getting notifications saying phone had viruses. I could log on to emails etc. while getting the notifications. I cleared cookies, cache etc., which stopped virus notifications but pages won't load properly. When tried to log onto MSE (using phone), I'm asked to accept cookies, which I do. I then click 'forum' but it asks me to accept cookies again - like in a loop. I can't log onto emails now. I've tried incognito mode also but still the same . Can anyone help? It's  fairly new phone.

It's the same issue when in safe mode.

If I log onto virginmedia, I get the main page but when clicking 'emails', nothing happens. When logging onto online news, the news comes up but videos won't load.

First of all I would restart the phone.  Does doing that make any difference?

Phone is a motorola play. I've restarted phone a few times but no joy. It's as if it won't let me access pages iv looked at before eg. i've not looked at virginmedia's 'deals' page before. I can access that but not the emails page (which i access regularly). I might have played about with settings but when i check them, they look ok. Cookies allowed etc. Don't know what else to try.

Someone else had same issue and put question on another website. That person was advised to 'force stop' chrome. It worked, thankfully. Phone working normally now.
