Advice needed on housing situation

Hi all
I I’m hoping to get a bit of advice for a situation I’m in. Without going into to much detail my partner and I have split up and I need to find a new place to live.
I I’m hoping to get a bit of advice for a situation I’m in. Without going into to much detail my partner and I have split up and I need to find a new place to live.
The problem is private rental pricing is crazy and even the cost of a room is so over the odds. Due to credit cards that I’m working on paying off I will really struggle to pay what people are asking for. I say struggle to pay, but I mean I can pay the rent and everything but struggle to live after paying all the household bills plus my other repayments. (Which I know is my fault)
I wondered if anyone knew of any options that may be around to help with renting? Or someone in my situation.
I don’t have anywhere else to go so have to find a property.
I have a feeling that I likely won’t be able to get any type of help or housing Association because of what I do earn.
Any advice is truly welcomed. And if any more details are needed I can share.
Thanks.

Your priorities to pay are your housing costs, your council tax, heat, light and water bills, food, and any necessary travel costs - that might include car finance. Add in insurances too. Your unsecured debts - the credit cards - get what is left. If there is nothing left, then you pay the unsecured debts nothing. It sounds like you might be well advised to post over on the debt free wannabe board for more information on this. We can explain fully over there what your options are, and generally provide a bit of help with your situation.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Are you on your local council housing register? Usually for both council and the housing associations. If not no chance. Free to apply.0

What about one of the companion sites where you live with someone who needs a little bit of help and they let you stay in their house. A friend did this at uni and I think she found it really rewarding. https://www.sharemyhome.co.uk/ Or a property guardian https://liveinguardians.com/ where you live in a property that is unoccupied to prevent trespassers. Have you tried Spareroom. There might be some cheaper ones on there.0
