Royal Mail SD claim

Options
Hello.
I’ll try to keep it short and to the point.
i sold a ring on eBay for £500. I bought online postage from RM and they collected it the next day. I was able to track for a few days until it was lost.
Put in a claim with plenty of proof, screen shots of its progress, links to the ring on eBay etc however they have only refunded my postage as I cannot find the email that was sent to me when they collected the parcel.
is it worth a trip to the small claims court? There is plenty of evidence they received it and lost it, they are not denying that, but without this one email, they will not pay.
NB the advisor told me the exact time and date they sent me this confirmation as he could see it on screen. He said they could not resend it even to the same original place it went before.
Please, please help!

How do you know it was lost? SD is normally tracked all the way to the recipient. Have they said that it never arrived
  • The tracking shows it was collected, went to the sorting office, then to another sorting depot then tracking stopped. It is completely lost. They have acknowledged that they received it and lost it, but they are saying without the ‘proof of collection email’ they cannot pay out!
