Hope you do not mind me mentioning but I would remove those screws while you can as after a few years weathering they are going to be difficult to undo.My preferred choice would be black japanned wood screws with brass cup washers, they will be easier to work with when it comes time to replace wood or remove brackets.Play with the expectation of winning not the fear of failure. Funnily enough those roundhead screws were bought from Screwfix only the other day and they are exterior grade screwed.
