Octopus offering fix now at new April prices

Always tempted by these things but equally cynical... How I long for the days when you were just with the energy supplier for your region (life was much simpler back then!)

    If you've got a smart meter then Agile or Tracker would be cheaper.

    Over a year, on Tracker I've probably saved up to a quarter on what I would have spent on a standard variable tarrif. When, I joined Tracker other forum members were saying similar.

    I too am wondering whether to take the octopus fix that they are offering. 
    If only a crystal ball could show us the rates for the coming winter…

    Cornwall insights do already have possible winter figures on their site I believe, but of course right now this really IS crystal ball territory. From memory I think the current belief is that down a little more in July is likely, before heading up - but again only a little - in October.

    They do now, but the exit fees from earlier fixes still apply, they won't be waived.

    Also depends a lot on the weather forecast. I've used a lot less gas this winter than last.
