Buying a digital camera

agreed with bizzy - I've used a Canon Ixus 400 which is 4MP and printed onto A4 with no problems in quality at all (crisp shots, no blurring, no colouration issues).
not sure how much weight it carries in lower end cameras, but I'm looking to get a higher end SLR camera in the next 12 months and am going with either Canon or Nixon (I sooo want a D70, lol) because they really are quality companies in this area. And my current low end Canon survived 3 years of uni with moving every 2 months, and my penchant for biking/skating around like a lunatic with it to take shots (even a fair few knocks) and is still in perfect working order.
I'd def. suggest going to a shop to try as many as possible (even if you don't buy from there in the end) as you want the camera to feel robust, and the weight of the camera can affect picture quality, but this latter point is inherently subjective so simply reading reviews wont really work (e.g. some ppl find that shots are more likely to be blurry with really light cameras because the camera moves while they are holding it).Win 2008 in 2008 member number.....237!!!
