    Matalan on Heart Network (excluding Scotland), March - April 2024 – Specific Rules  

    1.     The Matalan and Heart Breakfast promotion (‘Promotion’) is organised by Global (as defined in the General Terms and Conditions). The Promotion will run from Monday 11th March 2024 to Friday 12th April 2024 on the Heart Network (excluding Scotland). Global is the Promoter. The ‘Promotion Partner’ mentioned in these Specific Rules is Matalan and the ‘Prize Provider’ is NDL.  

    2.     IMPORTANT: The Promotion is subject to these Specific Rules and the General Terms and Conditions which are available here  (together, the ‘Promotion Terms and Conditions’). Entry into the Promotion constitutes acceptance of these Specific Rules and the General Terms and Conditions.  

    Details of the Promotion:    

    3.     To enter the Promotion, you must:   

    a.     (i) go online to the Promotion entry page at heart.co.uk/win and register your details, including your home address;   

    b.     (ii) explain in 300 words or less a family mishap story and who in the family saved the day (your ‘Submission’). By way of example... “In a rush to get the kids out of the door for a family getaway, I left our suitcases at home and only realised once we were halfway to our destination! Fortunately, my husband dropped us off and headed back to get the bags!”  

    4.     Entries will be judged by a panel of judges including one independent judge on the following criteria:   

                           ii.How “feel-good” the Submission is; 

                          iii.How engaging the Submission is; 

                         iv.Submissions must be suitable for broadcast to a family audience.  

                           v.The entrant and the family member who saved the day must be available for a surprise & delight moment from 8th -12th April 2024 between 6am and 8am.   

                         vi.The family member “who saved the day” and entrant must live at the same location.  

    5.     Entries deemed by us to be rude, offensive, defamatory, illegal or condoning dangerous behaviour will be removed from the Promotion.  

    6.     Online entry will open at 17:00 on Monday 11th March 2024 and close at 23:59 on Sunday 24th March 2024. Entries received before or after this time will not be included in the Promotion.   

    7.     Within 24 hours of the closing time of the Promotion, 100 entries will be selected at random and will be reviewed by the judges against the criteria outlined above. 5 entries will be selected as winning entries and such winning entrants will be contacted by one of our representatives via telephone on the telephone number with which you registered to enter the Promotion. If a winner does not respond within 3 calls, they will forfeit their right to the prize and we shall be entitled to select another winner from the original list of 100 entries.   

    8.     If none of the shortlisted 100 entries are deemed to meet the stated criteria, another 100 entries will be drawn at random and 5 entries will be selected as the winners and contacted as outlined above.  

    9.     The ‘winner’ as referred to throughout these Specific Rules will be whoever has been named as the person who ‘saved the day’ in the entry Submission. 

    9.     The five winning entrants will be surprised by representatives of the Heart Breakfast Show who will arrive at the doorstep of the winner’s home between 6am-8am, on a morning between Monday 8th April 2024 and Friday 12th April 2024. We will confirm the exact date with each entrant in advance of the week in play.  

    10.  Part 1 of the ‘surprise and delight’ will be delivering £1,500 worth of Matalan vouchers to the winner’s doorstep. Part 2 of the ‘surprise and delight’ will involve asking the winner a question, which if they answer correctly within 10 seconds, they will win a further £1,500 Matalan voucher and therefore win a total of £3,000 of Matalan vouchers. If they answer incorrectly or exceed the 10 second time limit they will only win the initial £1,500 Matalan voucher.   

    11.  We will film the entrant and their family each morning at their address, between the hours of 06:00 and 08:00 and will post these videos across Heart’s social channels and the Heart website.  

    12.  By submitting your entry to this Promotion, you confirm that you have obtained the consent of all individuals that feature in your submission (in the case of children under the age of 18, you have obtained the consent of the child’s parent/guardian) and agree to notify us immediately if their consent is withdrawn at any time.  

    12.  Within 48 hours of the Promotion closing on 24th March 2024, we will randomly select an additional winner from all eligible entries submitted to the Promotion, and award an £1,000 Matalan voucher to this winner.   

    13.  We, the Prize Provider and the Promotion Partner may publish and publicise your name, image, social media handle and/or profile picture, your nearest geographical location (for example, your nearest city, town or county) and your entry, and we may refer to your ad any applicable third party’s (for example a guest/travel companion)  association with the Promotion and/or the prize, in any and all media, worldwide, in perpetuity, for publicity and PR purposes solely in connection with the Promotion.  

    14.  In relation to winners (and runners up if applicable), you understand that we and our Promotion Partner may: (i) interview you and your guest(s)/travel companion(s) which we may film, photograph and/or record and; (ii) film, photograph and/or record, you and your guest(s)/travel companion(s) in connection with the Promotion, either by telephone or in person, and we may use such films, recordings and/or photographs for publicity and PR purposes in any and all media, worldwide, as often and for as long as we consider appropriate or desirable, in connection with the Promotion. We may also publish your and your guest(s)/travel companion(s) name, image, social media handle and/or profile picture.    

    Eligibility:  

    15.  The Promotion is only open to residents of the UK aged 18 and over, and who are based in the UK at the time of entry.  

    16.  Entry is restricted to one entry per person; duplicate entries will be excluded from the Promotion.   

    17.  Entrants must be available at their home address, between 06:00 and 08:00 each day between Monday 8th April 2024 and Friday 12th April 2024.  

    Prize:  

    18.  5x winners will each receive £1,500 Matalan vouchers with the potential to double this to £3,000 Matalan vouchers.   

    19.  1x additional entrant will receive a £1,000 Matalan voucher.  

    Prize Specific T&C’s:  

    20.  The winner should treat e-gift cards like cash. Lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced. The e-gift card will expire after 24 months. The winner will not be able to use this card after that date and any unused balance on the card will be lost. The card can be redeemed online at www.matalan.co.uk, via the Matalan App or in any of the 200+ Matalan stores within the UK.   

    21.  The £3,000 Matalan vouchers will be sent in denominations of 15 x £200.00 to the winner’s email address.   

    22.  The £1,500 Matalan vouchers will be sent denominations of 7 x £200.00 and 1 x £100.00 voucher to the winner’s email address.  

    23.  The 1x online winner of the £1,000 Matalan E-voucher will be sent denominations of 5 x £200.00 to their email address.  

    24.  All prizes will be delivered within 28 working days from the date that the Prize Provider receives confirmation of the delivery address from the winner. The Prize Provider will do their best to adhere to these time frames, however there may be delays with deliveries.  

    25.  Any other costs and expenses which are not specifically included in the prize description are excluded and will be the sole responsibility of the winner.  

    26.  The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable. No cash alternative is available. 

    27.  We reserve the right to substitute the prize with another prize of equal or greater value at our absolute discretion.

    Data Protection:  

    29.  Your personal data that you provide to us will be collected and processed by us, our licensees (including Communicorp UK Limited) as well as the prize providers, and if applicable, our service providers, network operators and suppliers in order to administer and fulfil the Promotion. Your personal data may also be disclosed to the Phone-paid Services Authority, Ofcom and/or the Advertising Standards Authority at their reasonable request for regulatory purposes, for example, in order to prevent, investigate and detect crime, fraud or anti-social behaviour and comply with law enforcement agencies and applicable advertising codes.  

    30.  By entering a Promotion, you acknowledge that any personal data provided by you in connection with the Promotion will be processed as set out above and in accordance with our Privacy Policy which sets out full details of how we process personal data and how you can exercise your rights as a data subject. Please ensure you have read and understood our Privacy Policy  before entering any Promotion. If you are required to submit a guest(s)/travel companion(s) personal data to enter a Promotion, you must ensure that your guest(s)/travel companion(s) have given you consent to provide us with their personal data.  

    31.  You may be asked if you want to opt-in to marketing from us when you enter a Promotion. If you choose to opt-in, we will use your personal data for marketing purposes (see Global's  Privacy Policy for more details). You can withdraw your consent to marketing at any time by unsubscribing.   

    32.  We and the prize providers may transfer and process personal data outside of the EEA and UK for the purposes of administering the Promotion. Where any transfers are made outside of the EEA or UK we will ensure appropriate safeguards to protect your personal data are in place.  

    33.  We will hold your personal data for a period of up to 3 years in order to comply with our regulatory obligations.   

    34.  You may request the removal of your personal details from our database by contacting privacy@global.com. If you request that your personal details be removed prior to the conclusion of a Promotion, you will forfeit your right to enter the Promotion and/or claim any prize and we reserve the right to select another entrant to participate in the Promotion or withdraw the prize and select another winner, as applicable
