Late Payment Registered

Hello all, I am new on here.  Just wondering if anyone can confirm the earliest date a late payment can be registered on your credit file?

I assumed it was 30 days past due date..

Thank you

I googled it and Experian said 30 days but posts on here say even 1 day, depending on lender

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

obviously 1 day late is late.  but I suspect that banks & credit cards don't register things for a few days after that as there's bound to be certain issues with systems etc and the occasional one that many of us have done which is simply pay a day late.  So maybe these don't actually register.  But 30 days is way beyond optimistic in my opinion.

The more crucial thing is establishing a pattern of behaviour.  If your payments are always on time except that once then it's not a biggie.  Yes it will show as late but when you go back to your normal pattern of paying on time it's just a tiny blip that is pretty much immaterial.

The problem is chronically paying late even if you catch up each month.  If this is happening then there's a money flow issue which might be resolved by asking for your payment dates to be amended.  I used to like having my DDs at the beginning of the month as I was normally paid about the 25th.  Giving a week before things were due meant that if there was an issue with the pay (highly unlikely but has happened) my employer has time to sort it before things start bouncing.
