Morning All
Damp and dreary this morning, the sun has forgotten where we live!
I had a lovely night away with DD, visited some gardens that were a bit bare but the lunch was good. The hotel was really nice with a pool so I had a couple of swims. It's a part of Scotland I haven't visited before and would like to go back, there's a lot to see.
Back to work this morning which will be very busy, hoping to go for a swim later on - I've become very lazy so must address that.
Lovely to hear you are home Nanny - make sure you rest, Mr Fix It will look after you.
Hope you all had a good weekend, take care. XX11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC. Hope work goes ok for you.
It's damp and dreary here as well, blooming weather.
Sounds like you had a lovely weekend Camelot, it does you good something different like that.
Nanny, I hope you're doing well, thinking of you.
We had a lovely lunch out with family yesterday, the restaurant was nice. It was very busy of course, with lots of mothers and families, but we had a great time.
I'm visiting one of my old lady friends this morning ( even older than me!) I She doesn't live far away, just a short walk, then when I get home it'll be the usual household stuff.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can - take care folks.

Another new week
Part-time job for a few hours this morning - van is in the garage (again…..different one……reversing camera this time) - so hope it’s done for when I finish otherwise I’ll be loitering around the charity shops for a while!).
Spent way too much time crafting at the weekend so will need to catch up on chores this afternoon.Izzy- enjoy your first retirement week at home - bet you’ll already wonder how you had time to go to work!Nan - keep those feet up and rest
everyone else - take care and enjoy the week

Morning all.
Up early as we are meeting friends in Hertfordshire for a walk and a pub lunch. I do hope it's not a muddy walk as we had enough of that on Saturday. When we get back I need to look for a space in the road near the garage and drop my car keys in as I have a service and MOT booked for tomorrow. That way I won't have to get up early and take it round :
Take it easy you recovering people and enjoy your Monday.8 -
Morning all, grey here but not raining yet. I had some lovely flowers and books and a plant from DSons yesterday then it was onward to DGD football match, quite a way away and we got lost despite the satnav, tricky 1 way system. It was really windy and dgd's eyes were watering, so much so that her vision went blurry as she kept wiping them, not ideal when you're the goalie- they lost
She gets a form of hives in cold weather which also came out. DGS was happy enough, there was a vacant pitch right next to us so he pracised his skills on there
When we got home we watched the main match on sky whilst the tea cooked away in the oven, little ham shanks in an apple based sauce, one of those that have been slow cooked , then vac packed. Microwave for 8 mins , pour the sauce on to finish off in the oven! Job done and really nice. Apple crumble for after- I wouldn't normally have any but what the heck -it was Mothers day after allWe didn't really fancy the offerings on tv so read our books.until it was time for the news.I hope everyone has had a good weekend, thinking of anyone poorly or sad.I'll have to have a root about in the freezer for tea but plenty in there as I picked up the meat pack on Friday.Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Damp and dreary here and meant to rain for most of the week ! Rob is back today 😃 he has missed coming I think as his mum said he keeps getting his bag out for her to pack for him coming for the day bless him, he will be very excited today as we are meeting his best friend and her carer and going bowling.
My lovely dd bought me so,e beautiful flowers and some chocolates yesterday, I have five boxes of chocs from my Birthday and Mother’s Day so I am well stocked up 😃
Dinner tonight will be scampi and chips nice and easy just need to pop it in the oven, DW has been emptied and a few bits put back in, will put a wash on after this.
Nanny hope you are recovering well - take it easy xxx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning folks. Another grey start but fortunately the heavy rain of yesterday has moved on.
After a w/e of the DGDs coming and going between their excursions I have a day to myself. The wm is on and shortly I need to go out and tidy the freezers after grabbing stuff for all the meals I hadn't anticipated making. I think I am seeing quite a few signs of daylight in them. I just need to avoid going in panic mode now and start a mass re-stock of them!
CAMELOT many years ago we spent a week in Peebles and agree it's a lovely area. We had a run to the rather remote St Mary's Loch one day and popped in Tibbie Shiels inn for lunch, and who should be sitting at the bar but my MIL's next door neighbours! We couldn't believe it when we were miles from home!
IZZIE glad you had a lovely break away before the start of retirement. The day after I retired we went to Spain for 2 weeks to celebrate my freedom and it took me a little while to get used to not going to work when we got back! Not that I missed work, far from it, but I felt as though I was playing truant!
Have a good day all and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. NAN have you still got your feet up? CHRISCA you must let us know the reaction from your boss to two resignation letters at the same time!! Take care all and be safe xx

Morning! From a week with nothing except two things, today I'll be busy..It is raining though so I can't really get in the garden and show it who's boss. Meeting friends this morning for shopping and lunching, I forgot I said I was meeting friends tonight for coffee and I have to fit in making pasta and lasagne among there somewhere. The fridge is not playing ball, yesterday I took out frozen carrots, potatoes and chicken to cook from there, so now I hav to decide, do I call someone out and spent over a hundred trying to fix it and it potentially still not be fixed, or get a new one? Because if I get a new one it'll have to be the one that will be going in the eventual kitchen and never be changed until it breaks...[won't be getting a big wide fridge freezer, but a tall one] decisions decisions...Nanny, hope you are staying resting! Izzy, fabulous, enjoy the first proper day of Oh my god I'm free! Chris, I need a countdown please, 25, 60? Ruby, isn't it nice he's itching to see you...Take care all, as one of the removed fridge magnets said, do more of what makes you happy....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi8

Hi everyone,
Life is getting back to normal, Esther is returning to nursery today, Esben has already been dropped off. Laura still hasn't heard the results of the MRI and EEG but working on the principle that they would have been contacted about anything urgent. As ever the poor old nurse works beautifully when there is a crisis but when it is over they are too busy for the follow up appointments.
Talking of which, I had a telephone conversation with the Dr this morning about my ongoing stomach problem. She said I'll send you for a scan and I told her I'd had one last February so she seemed surprised and asked if my problem had been going on for a year, I told her it was two years so she is referring me to a specialist so we will see.
Nanny, I hope you're recovering well.
Izzy, I hope you're enjoying retirement.
Have a good day.

Morning - I've had two lovely boiled eggs for breakfast. Unfortunately I've also got a cold, it was at the streaming stage last night, now bunged up! I won't be going to my exercise class this morning
I may make up for it by giving the grass it's first cut of the year.
It's good to read the happy news here, virtual hugs to all.7
