I applied to switch to Ulster Bank on Friday and a switch of another account to Natwest on Saturday. As far as I could see, both applications did complete ok.

I don't recall Ulster Bank confirming the application online or giving me any information at all and I have not had an email yet.

Natwest confused me because on the page saying what happens after ID verification they say "You can already use Online Banking, and register for Mobile Banking via our mobile app" but when I try to use online banking it fails and they say "If you’ve just successfully opened an account, it can take up to two business days before it’s available in online banking." I guess I'll just wait for a day or so.

I switched to all of this group of banks last time around and what you are saying is normal practice,

It is a slow process with no interaction from there side until it's done

Natwest - I've found that you'll more than likely get a text message first with the account details. At that stage you should have the correct info to log in with.

Ulster - Again you'll get a text message but telling you that your details are being posted out. Well that's what I'm finding

Yes, I've now had a message from Natwest saying they will email me when the account is open, so they're fine.

But nothing from Ulster Bank as yet. I'll wait a bit longer and then contact them.

I appled to Ulster last Tuesday. ID check email/text on Wednesday. 'Current account open' text on Thursday (no account details, just said they had been posted out). Customer number email Saturday.

So currently waiting for the letter with the activation code.

Same as Natwest from what I recall. Text message with the account details, which should then be enough to log in with.
