Flicking lights

When I switch on my living room and kitchen light I get a flick does this mean the bulbs need replaced? Upstairs seems ok

    We had one like that and it stopped when I changed the bulbs.

    I'm going to vote for a lose wire in the switches
    Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.

    Unlikely that two switches fail simultaneously. Are the two rooms on the same circuit?If so I'd suspect a circuit fault.
