Renault glow plugs / faulty thermostat

I have a Renault Kadjar which has just had the 2nd faulty thermostat replaced under warranty, this followed the same thing last year when the original was replaced - I now have an intermittent fault which my local independent garage assessed & advised 2 of the 4 glow plugs require replacement.
Its a hefty quote even from my local garage so I'm wondering if these would have been damaged by the faulty thermostat & if there would be any case for Renault also replacing these under warranty? The car is now out of warranty but was the damage done before it expired.
I will give them a call this week but just wanted a better understanding before speaking with them.

They won’t have been damaged by the faulty thermostat, potentially if the engine was kept colder for longer by a stuck open stat then they may have been working a bit harder - glow plugs do six or seven other things these days not just pre-heating the cylinders before a cold start. In my experience glow plugs are like Christmas tree lights on some engines once one goes they all go.0

OK Thanks for the technical advice, just what I needed.
What would cause them to need replacement & approx how long do they take to replace?0 -
how old is the vehicle and what is the pattern of use ?0

Glowplugs are simply a consumable. Use causes them to fail over time.
They're not something that's a scheduled replacement - you just replace them when they fail, like a wheel bearing or a brake pad or an alternator.0 -
OK Thank you most appreciated0
