Is there any kind of agency or support group that may be able to shed light on this? I just seem to be going around in circles trying to figure thus out.
If you've complained to a regulated financial institution and been unsatisfied with the response, then you have the option of escalating to the Financial Ombudsman Service, but they're only going to look at the specific circumstances of that complaint against the individual firm rather than some sort of holistic review of the entire situation of not being able to find a current account provider, so may not be applicable here.

You might also submit a SAR to National Hunter, another anti-fraud database like CIFAS but relating to cross-referencing application data:

Try a Virgin M Plus, they might actually prefer you having that to a basic, or a Metro Bank/Co-operative Bank Cashminder might be easier to get, alongside Chase.

However, you could always consider a flexible savings account if it is intended for saving? Have it paid into your existing joint current and have it transferred in?
