Morning. Still lying in bed. I’m going to make some soap today. Also need to vacuum (my worst job). Weather looks nice but it’s supposed to rain today. If it doesn’t rain I’ll go out for a walk.0 bonus saver

I've been sky watching again, half an hour ago there was thick white low-lying cloud, now I can see bits of blue peeking through.Lunch in Glasgow was really tasty, I had chicken liver parfait first, beef and venison cottage pie and then an orange panacotta for pudding. My companion gave me an excellent bottle of Sancerre (my favourite wine) and a Dr Alice Roberts book which I'd asked for. 😋😀 The restaurant was the busiest I've seen it, every table in use and a large party upstairs. And the long drive each way was also enjoyable. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day.As for today, it's a day of rest! I'll read back yesterday's thread properly after breakfast. It's so lovely to see Nan back at home. Hugs to all our poorlies and those MIA.12

Good morning allBack from a lovely holiday and back to reality! I don't want to take anything away from Izzy but will start my countdown to retirement tomorrow as I'm handing in my notice at work tomorrow, as will my colleague too. We've both worked there for over 20 years and have never had a boss like this one. Flaky is a word that we would use. I could go on but I'd bore you all. He will have a shock when he walks in tomorrow morning to 2 envelopes on his desk. Watch this space!!!I hope Nan continues her recovery and {{hugs}} to all others that are going through a rotten time at the moment.Happy Mother's Day to all mums on here and to all the ones that we miss xxEnjoy your day all xx12

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's raining here, and cold - hope this is not going to be like last winter, which would just not go away.
Glad to see you posting Nanny, I hope you make a good recovery.
Itsthelittlethings, vacuuming is my worst job as well, though I must admit my Dh normally does it. Making soap sounds intriguing.
It sounds as if you had a great day yesterday Gers.
It'll be a nice feeling , handing your notice in Chrisca.
We are meeting Ds and family, plus Dil's Mum for lunch in Newcastle today, so looking forward to that.
It was our wedding anniversary yesterday and we had planned to go out for the day but it was so cold that we didn't - we'll be going away in the caravan after Easter so we'll just look forward to that. The more "mature" ones among us will remember when we all got married in March because there was a tax rebate, or some tax benefit anyway.
Hoping our poorly/ sad people soon start to feel better, take care folks.

Morning everyone I have been trying to read along but internet was very hit and miss NAN so pleased you are home keep your feet up and look after yourself DP1 I’m pleased the little one is better and Esther is back on her feet these little ones do worry you but they can be tough little things as well Ruby happy birthday I missed that and happy Anniversary scarlet Chrisca it will be a lovely feeling handing in that envelope I will help you count down I found my last month so hard as I just didn’t want to be there but it’s a lovely feeling knowing you don’t have to be anywhere and do anything at a certain time freedom. Sorry if I’ve missed anyone but I wish you all well I’ve had a lovely week away we were very lucky with the weather we had blue skies and lovely sunshine the first half of the week the rest of the week was dry but the wind could have cut you in two the little dog was in her element I have walked miles and I managed to drag hubby to Alnwick and we had a drive to a few other places i have walked a million miles but never lost an ounce to many treats but back on it today I ever stopped yesterday when I got back shopping and washing and I made a big pan of carrot and lentil soup for lunches then the day was gone felt absolutely shattered we are expecting the family to land soon so I had better get a wiggle on . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing14

Morning folks and thanks GERS. What a lovely day you had. No sun here, just heavy rain which is going to last all day says the forecast. And none too warm either.
Belated happy anniversary SCARLET. I remember that tax rebate but in our case it was because DD was born just before midnight on the 4th April!! Talk about cutting it fine before the start of the new tax year on the 5th!! It was the last thing on my mind at the time as you can imagine!
My lazy day yesterday kept on being un-lazy! After the brought forward shopping trip I ended up with the 2 youngest GD mid afternoon. They were here until 6 pm when they were picked up by one of their dance teachers (who lives near me) to go to the Alhambra theatre to see the Sao Paulo Dance Company (from Brazil) on their tour of the UK. They got back at about 10 pm and said they had enjoyed it. They are still in bed but I expect them down any time "starving" as usual! They are then getting picked up again late morning to go to an activity place with their half siblings. Not sure if they will be back or going home afterwards.
DS says he is calling shortly with his Mother's Day gift and, in DD's absence, the girls brought her gifts yesterday. Thoughts are with those whose mums are no longer with us.
CHRISCA welcome back, glad the holiday was enjoyed and now retirement beckons. I hope CAMELOT is enjoying her w/e away. NAN I hope you continue to be on the mend and take it easy. Have a lovely day all and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad, worried or lonely. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. Morning all. It's been raining here already so it can stop now
It was a good, but muddy, walk yesterday. One of the geocaches was missing so we ended up discovering 16 on a 4 mile walk. A couple of bits of mud were the worst I've seen for years. DH and I must have made a pretty picture hanging on to a gate post and swinging round, trying not to put our feet on the ground, and then going post to post alongside a fence with barbed wire on top.
Afterwards we went to a pub on the Grand Union canal but ended up just stopping for a drink as there was an hour's wait for food.
Today I need to do some catching up at home but will have a second cup of tea first.
Happy Sunday everyone

Good morning all
Thank you for the start @Gers, pleased you had a good day
Nan, lovely to see you posting, take it easy.
Scarlet, belated happy anniversary
Izzy enjoy your retirement.
Raining and a bit chilly here. Nothing planned, know I won't see DS even a message would make my day.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12
