Careful. A landlord in England needs to provide an address in England or Wales for serving of notices. They can’t use an address in Scotland or Northern Ireland. 

Scottish landlords can use an address anywhere in the UK though.

Very generous of them to pass on this information to get themselves taxed.

Unlikely. The landlord would almost certainly have to use a letting agent in which case the tenants wouldn’t have to concern themselves with income tax on the rent at all. The landlord can register for HMRC’s non-resident landlord scheme so that no one but the landlord need concern themselves with the income tax on the rental income.

I used UK Postbox and got an address in Dorset.
