in Credit cards
Morning
I got a letter from TPF at the beginning of December telling me I'd be getting 0% for 6 months on all purchases made between 1st and 31st December 2007. The letter explicitly says "Just use your Tesco Credit Card to pay and as well as your points, you'll automatically get this special offer rate".
So, I duly used my card as I'd just spent up to my limit on my current 0% card and thought I'd put off getting my next 0% card for another few weeks.
My statement arrived on Christmas Eve, showing no purchases before 1st December, £365.23 worth of purchases between 1st and 18th Dec, and then says if I only make the minimum payment of £10, my estimated interest payment next month is £6.93
I've called them about it and they said it's just how the statement works - even though it shows that I will be charged interest, I won't really, it's just that they can't show it as 0% on the statement as this is a limited retention offer only sent out to 2000 customers.
This sounds like b*llsh*t to me - has anyone else here got this offer from TPF, and has your December statement arrived yet showing interest on your December purchases?
(note - the offer also included 0% BT for 6 months, with a 2.5% fee, but I'm not going to take them up on that)
