Thoughts on platform and low-risk investments for £2880 pa pension contribution

With HL ( and other providers) you can also invest in STMM's, presumably including the Vanguard one if you want.FIREmenow said:Thanks Dazed,
It is all to be left in the pension for inheritance tax planning, so that if my dad dies before 75 my mum will inherit it tax-free.
As it needs to be in a pension wrapper for this and they are somewhat risk averse, I am looking to invest it to hopefully do better than the 3.45% interest with HL's SIPP for leaving it in cash.
One option is the Vanguard pension, with the money market fund I mentioned above.
HL's platform fee is higher than Vanguards, but just making the point you do need to specifically move your pension to Vanguard to invest in STMMs.0 -
I think this is what you meant?Albermarle said:

Thanks Albermarle, and MallyGirl for the correction.
As you say, other STMMs are available, and the Vanguard one can be held elsewhere, but they are the cheapest platform for what we want so if they have a suitable STMM then that should do the job.0
