ESTA Application - Emergency contact numbers

I've got through to adding my emergency contact details but every single UK phone number I have entered I get this: errors.1088 error.telephonenumber.invalid
I've got the UK +44 in the dropdown box and taken out the first 0, added it back in; tried both sons phone numbers and my husbands but nothing works.  I can't proceed.  My own number worked in a previous field without the first 0.

Any ideas please?

Edited:  I can't even Save and Exit as it gives the error message even when I've taken out the number.

Maybe try a different web browser or different computer
  • Be wary of spaces particularly at start & end.
I recently had no problems doing same.
    Entered
    +44xxxxxxxxxx
    where x = my mobile number w/o 0

Try leaving out the “+” and just going with 44  eg 44 123 456 7890

I've done 0044 at the start which is accepted.

Thank you.  Finally managed to Save and Exit and when I went back in, it had saved my sons details and I sailed through the rest.  I then went and did my husbands application with absolutely no problems whatsoever.  Sigh.  Both now approved for travel.  Why?  Why?  Breathe.

If it's any consolation I spent ages trying to use a UK number on my account registration for US national park pass last night. Like you I tried all the +44 and 00 variations.... ended up using the phone number of the guest house we are staying at! Wouldn't be useful to your Esta, but was the only work around I could get to work. So I feel your pain!
