Eastern is disappointing on the offpeak rate (DD 14.12) and is now the second most expensive region from being by far the cheapest last year.

@dunstonh :
It does look like EDF are loading the off peak rates compared to their previous deals.
Although our ECO20;20 tariff has reduced with the April cap, the peak has dropped by 24% but the off peak by only 12%.
Very frustrating when 84$% of our usage is off-peak :'(

A noticeable increase in leccy fixed daily tariff in the NE. I assume people use less electricity.0

But is that 84% annual or quarterly mix ?lohr500 said:@dunstonh :

With electric only - heating makes my off peak vs peak mix ratio very seasonal.
79% last 12m from Mar statements. Winter peaks over 90% in coldest weeks, summer dips nearer 50% as no heat used (in milder years- spring autumn that can be Apr through Oct for me) - which can be as or more expensive than SR occassionally.
I've thought at times looking from outside that EDF tended to weight some of their winter vs summer peak off peak balancing around Ofgem cap to help that kind of all electric mix swing to high off peak in winter.
But last winter (22/23) rash of cheap E7 rates may have distorted that perception when others say big price increases - ave c7% but EOn was 17% off peak from MSE article.
And just looking vs E10 on rate card for Apr, E2020 looks good value still in some regions - with peak and off peak rates less than E10s despite the extra all day at weekend off peak period.
