That’s ridiculous. Is it a war against cash or something? I’ll not touch that bank.HillStreetBlues said:
But don't pay in more than a grand in cash in a year otherwise you get hit with charges.steven141 said:Starling Bank customers can use the post office.0 -
You can pay in cash at Paypoints with Monzo, although there is a charge, Starling let you pay in cheques up to £1000 in the app and with both you can pay in cheques by post. Cash and cheques are an occasional nuisance for most people so it shouldn't be much of a concern.steven141 said:
The only thing is that Monzo or Starling don’t have branches but as has been said above, Starling Bank customers can use the post office.Rob5342 said:I'd suggest Monzo or Starling as they have the best apps around by far. Nationwides is like something out of the stone age in comparison.0 -
What you looking for from a bank?
Everyday banking?
Savings?
I only do Current & Savings accounts to be honest and usually you can only get decent savings if you already have an existing current account.
Most of the banks seem to have cashback &/or other loyalty/reward scheme, although can be beaten by Quidco/TopCashback etc.
Banks do switch offers too so you can get some money that way too.
As long as a bank does what you need it to do I don't think it matters who you go with to be honest.
I'm with several banks & building societies and majority of the time they do what I need them to do.
It doesn't bother me that much who owns who etc, there's protection with money etc.0 -

Just choose a real bank and not some Mickey Mouse outfit that doesn't let you deposit cash without charge.steven141 said:

Probably First Direct would be a viable option for you.1
