In case anyone else was wondering what this was about:

Negotiate UK-wide recognition of older person's bus passes

We believe the UK Government should negotiate reciprocal agreements with the devolved administrations of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to allow the recognition and use of older person's bus passes across the whole of the UK.

It would also be helpful for parity - whilst I live in the Liverpool City Region, I don't live within the Merseytravel area so will get my bus pass at 67 as per my council's rules. If I lived over the Mersey, still in my council area but within Merseytravel, I could get a concessionary pass at 60.

Where I live, in a county town, it would be nice to have a half decent bus service

Most councils don't give it until you reach State Pension age,  AFAIK. London is more generous, and clearly a few other places vary in giving concessions for trains as well.

But I fear if consistency was enforced, it would be at the least generous level.

as with womens pensions, the parity would likely be at state pension age for both. Most of the country has its bus pass at state pension age.

But I still live within and vote in the Liverpool City Region 🤷‍♀️

Im in Liverpool and benefit from a disability pass. Metseytravel have always been generous with free bus passes, having 60+ and disabled passes long before the government scheme. I even get travel before 9am

London used to allow pensioner concessionary travel on bus/tube/tram 24/7 but now restricts weekday mornings (but still starts at 9 am, 30 mins earlier than national scheme).
Its 60+ (and before state pension age) pass requires payment of an annual fee.
