    Yes, which very often happens why you ask questions and fail to give all the information needed. 

    Third party advice is always the worst to have to give and no one can give the correct advice without all the correct advice. 

    As they don’t have a computer then I’d advise them to get some expert advice from an agency near them.

    Does this 'elderly friend' meet the eligibility criteria for Universal Credit?

    'elderly' and UC don't tend to go together.

    GOV.UK is a good source of information on benefits:

    To claim you must:

    • live in the UK
    • be aged 18 or over (there are some exceptions if you’re 16 to 17)
    • be under State Pension age
    • have £16,000 or less in money, savings and investments
    Maybe you meant Pension Credit?
