No suitable homes for sale?

  • I haven't read all 6 pages of this, but if the OP has been looking since March and we're now in September then there's clearly a mismatch between what they want to buy and what they can afford to pay.

If they actually want to move, then they're going to have to be more flexible on one or more of the following:

    • price
    • location
    • features/specification

    Otherwise, they're simply hunting unicorns.
In my defence I was initially looking at a village where people rarely move as it's nice. Before being in a position to buy, I'd seen several suitable properties there. I checked again and nothing has come to market since June.

I'm now looking in a different part of the country in a town, and can see several homes sold earlier this year that would have been suitable. I've had very few properties sent to me by all of the local estate agents over the past month.

I'm not looking for something perfect and willing to compromise but keep getting told that the main things not to compromise on are location, and parking and room sizes if it's not possible to change those (i.e. if yoy can't knock through walls or create off road parking).

There are a few new builds dropping in price but the room sizes are not feasible (bedrooms which only fit a bed).

My budget is in line with suitable homes that sold earlier this year there, so it's just a matter of waiting it seems.

I wonder if people are waiting for the budget before selling their home?
