Hi, we are currently receiving 15 hours childcare from the local authority for our two year old as we are in receipt of DLA, furthermore we are about to begin receiving 15 hours childcare as working parents. Would it be possible to confirm if this equates to 30 hours childcare and both still apply? As I don’t believe the 15 hours DLA childcare should stop just because the working parents 15 hours commences, wouldn't this be considered discrimination as the child is still in receipt of DLA. Thanks

It does not equate to 30 hours, unfortunately.
But it isn't that you are no longer entitled to the 15 hours due to DLA, its just that the 15 hours of childcare given for the DLA also counts towards the 15 hours you are given for being working parents.1 -
Thanks for the response.
On this basis then is it right to assume there is no additional support then or should I say the maximum support a family are able to get is 15 hours DLA childcare or 15 hours child care for working parents? Even though the family meet both eligibility criteria.
