Hygger refusing my warranty claim

I bought a new Hygger LED light from eBay just over 10 months ago. It is an LED and 25 of the LEDs have gone and the remaining ones are intermittently dim or turned off.

I contacted the ebay seller and they ignored me. I then contacted Hygger direct and they said they only provide warranties for products bought on Amazon. Because I didn't by on Amazon I have no consumer protection.

Is this true? All I want is a repair or replacement. Do warranties mean anything? What should I do?

Thanks for your help.

Even if you don't have any warranty from the manufacturer, you still separately have rights against the retailer under the Consumer Rights Act, so you need to continue to pursue the seller if you wish to exercise these.

What warranty?  You didn't buy it from an authorised reseller so who even knows if its genuine or not.  As said consumer rights with the retailer only.
  • Okay, from some more detailed information I've been given, I've been told I can't get a repair or refund because the Consumer Rights Act only covers up to 6 months. This seems to be correct from what I can find.

So there's nothing I can do?

Not quite correct but after 6 months the onus is on you to show the product was inheritently faulty and will need a suitably qualified person to provide a report to say so.
