When does an LPA expire?

Once a ‘Donor’ has passed away, does an LPA become a worthless document as the Executors will take over all responsibilities?

When my father set up LPAs a few years ago, his solicitor told me "their authority ends with the last breath". So yes, the LPA has no further authority and the executor takes over - for many of us, that's been the same person and just requires a swap of headwear.3
